Ozarks Rivers Heritage Foundation manages the Dewey Short Visitor Center on Table Rock Lake, operates the Discovery Shop retail store, facilitates special events & educational opportunities, and provides tours of Table Rock Dam.
The foundation’s operation is financed through product sales, fees, and donations. Revenue will remain in the district to further enhance its mission.
The US Army Corps of Engineers received federal funding for a new visitor center at Table Rock Lake. Success of this improvement requires strong community involvement and a cooperative has been established with the Ozarks Rivers Heritage Foundation to provide such support. It is through this partnership with the Corps that the foundation manages the Dewey Short Visitor Center. In support of its mission, the foundation also provides tours inside Table Rock Dam, facilitates educational opportunities, and operates the Discovery Shop. In partnership with the Corps of Engineers, the foundation operates Corps owned campgrounds at Table Rock Lake -Indian Point, Aunts Creek, Campbell Point, Baxter, Cape Fair, Mill Creek and Old 86- plus Moonshine Beach Recreation Area. The foundation will operate the new Dewey Short Regional Visitor Center upon its completion.
